Thank you for choosing to donate to Cry
Your donation, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of those we support! We are a self supporting charity, and are entirely reliant on the generosity of people like you to keep this work going.
Ways to Donate
There are many ways you can give to support our work, and you can even get involved by organising a fundraiser or introducing us to your company. Check out the options below!
Have you considered setting up a monthly standard order for CRY?
This is one of the best ways to make a donation because it means CRY has a regular guaranteed source of income, and because it is not restricted to a particular project, CRY can utilise the money where it is most needed. It’s also an easy way for you to give money as it is forwarded automatically to the CRY Charity on a monthly basis.
A small amount of money can make a huge difference, your help enables us to help & support others. Please download and print the enclosed form or email donations@cry.ie.
Direct Debit
A monthly standing order is one of the best ways to support us as it is a regular guaranteed source of income, and it allows us to ensure the money goes where it is most needed. It’s also an easy way for you to give money as it is forwarded automatically to us every month
A small amount of money can make a huge difference, your help enables us to help and support others.
Tax Relief
If you are a PAYE tax payer donations over €250 or more in any one year are eligible for tax relief. You don’t have to make this payment in one donation. They are cumulative so a standing order of €21.00 per month will bring you over the threshold.
Simply complete this form, date and sign, and finally returning it to us so we can make our claim. It is that simple! Email us at donations@cry.ie if you need any assistance.
Giving in Your Will
If you are considering leaving CRY Ireland a gift in your will, thank you! Your gift is a powerful legacy that will help us continue the work we do in the long term.
Your gift will impact generations of families for years to come. It is a lasting act of kindness and a very special way to support a cause that matters to you into the future.
A legacy gift is a very personal matter. You will want to think about your family and your loved ones first. But remember that you can also provide support for the cause you believe in and we would be honoured to be part of your legacy. A legacy gift can be large or small and is tax free.
You can choose to gift CRY Ireland:
- A sum of money – any sum that suits your circumstances. This is a pecuniary bequest.
- A percentage of the value of your estate. This is called a residuary gift and can range from 1% to 100% of your estate, depending on what best suits your circumstances. Even a gift of 1% would be hugely impactful to CRY Ireland.
- A specific named item of value.
We give you our utmost assurance that we will use your gift as carefully and as cost effectively as possible to bring the maximum benefit to our families affected by sudden cardiac death.
Important things to remember
You should always seek professional advice about making or amending your Will. Your solicitor can advise you on key considerations regarding your Will and can ensure it is legally binding and that your wishes are carried out. Your solicitor can also advise on the tax and financial advantages of leaving a gift in your Will to CRY Ireland.
If you already have a Will and wish to amend it to include a gift to CRY Ireland, you will be required to use a Codicil form (a written amendment that alters or adds to your existing Will). Your solicitor can advise on this.
When leaving a gift in your Will to CRY Ireland you may need to provide the following information about the charity to your solicitor:
Address: Cardiac Risk in the Young in Ireland (CRY Ireland), Unit B14, Tallaght Cross West, Tallaght, Dublin 24. D24 R3HC.
Charity No: 14506
Registered Charity Number: 20047511
Thank you so much for considering supporting CRY Ireland and our work with a gift in your Will. You are helping us to continue our work and make difference.

My Legacy
Did you know you can leave a legacy gift to support the work of CRY Ireland? My Legacy was established in 2006 by a small group of Irish charities who knew at first hand the great impact a legacy gift can have on the work of a charity. They also realised that, unlike other countries, many Irish people do not make a will despite how important a life document it is. Since then, My Legacy has grown to an umbrella group of 70 Irish charities who work together to promote the great importance of making a will and to ask people to consider leaving a legacy gift to a favourite charity, once family and friends have been taken care of and all other important personal decisions have been made.My Legacy is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors mainly drawn from our member charities and our work is funded by annual membership fees.
My Legacy provides unbiased, useful information to individuals, charities and solicitors about leaving legacies to charities. My Legacy does not solicit specific gifts or legacies for individual organisations.
