Get Involved

As a self-funded charity, CRY Ireland depends solely on generous donations from individuals, communities and organisations.  Currently we receive no government funding. These donations are crucial to allow us to continue assisting our communities making fundraising is essential to keep Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) running successfully and impacting thousands of lives every year.

We seek to enhance the awareness of what we do and build on our reputation as a leading voice for families affected by sudden cardiac death and those living with an inherited cardiac condition.

Growth in our services is contingent upon raising additional funding.

Organising a Fundraising Event

We welcome any fundraising efforts from any person no matter how big or small. If you need support for a particular event please contact us and we will do our very best to assist you. We can also upload your story onto our website to help out.

Fitness Challenge

Participating in fitness challenges can be a great way to not only raise funds for us, but also to raise awareness of cardiac conditions too! Take your pick from mini- marathons, half marathons, full marathons, triathlons, cycles, swims or walks. We have some ideas and tips below! Please contact info@cry.ie or phone + 353 1 452 5482 to receive your sponsorship pack. You can also set up your own charity page on everydayhero.com.

MARATHONS & RUNS

Every year there are many marathons and running events taking place throughout the country. These events range from 1K runs to full marathons, so you can find the right option to suit your skill level.

TRIATHLONS

There is an abundance of triathlons happening throughout Ireland all year long. The stages or a triathlon include a 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run which makes it one of the toughest challenges a person can take on!

CYCLING

Cycling has become one of the most popular sports in Ireland and there is a wide range of competitive and non-competitive events happening every month. Check out Cycling Ireland for dates and details.

CHALLENGE RUNS

HELL & BACK is an off-road obstacle course challenge, featuring man-made and naturally-occurring challenges over a variety of terrain, on courses that vary from 7km to 12km.

How your company can get involved

There are so many ways in which you and your company can help CRY Ireland.

This can range from nominating CRY to be a Charity for a year with your employer, allowing you and your colleagues to support CRY Ireland over the course of a year. If your company have a Corporate Social Responsibility Team please consider the nomination.

If you’re company have a grant programme – please consider nominating CRY.

We would love to have the opportunity to speak to the employees at your company to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death.  Reach out to us at info@cry.ie.

Sponsorship

We are constantly raising awareness for Sudden Cardiac Death through media campaigns, information meeting and our social media accounts and it is the support of companies like yours that can help us to cover the cost of this. Companies will be given the opportunity to align their brand with CRY Ireland  Reach out to us at info@cry.ie.

Payroll Giving

This is a straight forward and effective way for employees to give something back to our charity directly from their salaries. Remember If you are a PAYE tax payer donations over €250 or more in any one year are eligible for tax relief. You don’t have to make this payment in one donation. They are cumulative so a standing order of €21.00 per month will bring you over the threshold.  Please talk to your employer about Matched Giving.
